Road trip Dallas - Austin- New Orleans

Hello RVrs
We are looking to take a trip from Dallas to Austin Tx for a day and final destination to New Orleans. Can any one suggest any interesting stops along the way?
Our thought is to go 35 south and the the 10 into New Orleans.

Any fun and interest suggest would be appreciated.
Thx MJ

Go to San Antonio on the way and see the River Walk! We stayed at the KOA which has a convenient bus stop right in fron that takes you right to the River Walk, no having to look for parking. We had a Great time there!!! The Alamo is in the same area along with some interesting street vendors and good food, easy walking to see everything. Take the riverboat ride too!

Depends on what you like to do. Many good casinos from Lake Charles to Lafayette. Good Cajun food along the way. Swamp tours galore (although too cold now for gators). In New Orleans I would most highly recommend the WW II museum. One of the very best in the country. I have been there about half dozen times and still have not seen it all. Very good stories and exhibits.

I-10 from Beaumont to LA border is rough. Also bad in Sulfur LA. Take it slow....

Safe travels and enjoy!
