We live about 25 mi. from Silver Spgs SP and drive past it every time we go to Ocala area. Visited there so many times as a kid, always fascinated by Ross Allen's snake shows. Since State of Fl took it over and it seems to us like it had lost some of it's prominence, however, the natural beauty is still there. We hadn't thought about taking the MH there for a stay but will add it to the places we want to go. Heading over to Manatee Spgs SP tomorrow for a 4 day stay wherein, after not being in the areas for well over 10 yrs, we'll again visit Steinhatchee and Cedar Key.

Hi guys,

Nice pics. We went last year and loved it. We have a long weekend and are at Blue Moon in Dunedin. We were actually thinking of going there, if we knew you were there we would have went there.

Wow maybe we can all get together soon. We are going to Fort wilderness Jan 8,9,10,2016. After that no plans.

The koa in Kissimmee is very nice for a weekend.

Check out Homossassa Springs Wildlife State Park. No campground there, but there are several in the area. They have rescue manatees, and so much more. You like water birds, there is a wetlands area with about every large bird you see in Florida, alligators and a hippo, too. Any out of state guests we take there love it.

Blue Springs State PK in Orange City, FL (just south of Deland) is one of the best places to view manatees. During winter months manatees flock to the springs because they are warmer than the St. Johns River water. Not unusual to see dozens of manatees in the spring and run. Has RV camping, with electric & water, rigs limited to 40 ft or less. Also have cabins and a lodge. Very popular and busy over winter months so reservations are advised.
