Tennessee dry counties

We'll be headed down to Tennessee in a few weeks and will be staying at a KOA in a "dry" county for a while. Anybody familiar with the laws as they relate to having alcohol stored in the RV?

I'm pretty sure that you can have it: they just can't sell it in the dry Counties...
Our Township was one of the last dry ones in NYS... it recently voted to allow the sale of beer and wine...

I thought you can sell alcohol in a dry county as long as it’s a private club. I knew of a dry county in North Carolina and there were clubs and you had to get a $10 a year membership.

Dry counties just mean they can't sell it. It's not like they can come into your MH and take it.

We travel through Tennessee often and have our bottles stowed in the compartment under the bed with no easy access.
In addition, we visited the Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg. It is in a dry county, but they comply with regulations that allow them to operate.
If you have time and interest in that sort of side trip, it is well worth the half day tour etc.
Then, down the road about 30 miles is a small batch distillery Dickel .. which we just happened upon...different type of operation...interesting.

Thanks for the information gang! I thought it was ok to have in the coach, but better safe than sorry.
VKB, we're planning to tour the JD distillery while we're there. My last boss before I retired is a Tennessee Squire so I have to check the place out. We'll also check out Dickel too!

You're more than welcome to invite them in, and share a drink with them...

Texarkana, Tx./ Ar. With half the town 'dry' (Tx.) with hotels/ businesses and the other half 'wet' (Ar.) with Bars and restaurants and a six lane street deviding it. Even the courthouse is split there for paying tickets.

Agreed! Well worth the visit and the historical tour. Don't forget to go into Lynchburg after you are done. We visited before we became RVers and our friend picked up her own wooden barrel for her home there.

We did the "Angel's Share" tour. Got the entire tour plus a tasting session on their single barrel items. GOOD STUFF! Well, all except for the "Barrel Proof" 131.5 proof is a little rough for an old guy! Our guide was fantastic, informative and funny at the same time. First Friday of every month all JD employees get a bottle of Ole #7 with their check. They call it Good Friday.
Could have spent way too much money in downtown Lynchburg, lots of cool stuff. Found the Beachcraft Heritage Museum down there too! Being an aircraft buff that was a nice tour. Several restored stagger wings on display as well as a "Starship."

Glad to hear that it was a worthwhile trip!
Did you have to "Sleep it off"?

Yeah, I remember during my 3rd (?) Childhood, and I went to see relatives in Wichita, Ks. Went by the Beechcraft plant when they owned it and they were having a Staggerwing fly in during that time. Interesting airplanes.
