Tons of them...but, like RV forums...you'll only hear about the few bad.

Is most of I10 bad? We were planning on taking it from about Pensacola to New Orleans, then picking it up again in West Texas to Arizona.

Aside from the insane amount of traffic, I-10 in Texas isn't to bad, but there was construction between Houston and San Antonio last month when I went thru there, if I remember is was near Seguin. The interstate highway system will always have issues with poorly maintained stretches. The truck traffic takes its toll, but without the trucks how would we get our stores stocked. I guess bad roads can be a sign of a good economy.

I've made two trips recently from Atlanta...one to Indiana and the other to Michigan. I've never seen so much construction going on in years. It's the infrastructure money put to work and there's major improvements. Not sure how that program works but you can sure see heavy activity in some states and very little in others. There are some states that are so far behind, like Michigan (gorgeous state but horrible roads), you wonder if they will ever break even...much less get ahead. Then, there are other states that have underlayment/earth issues, like Mississippi where the shifting of the "Yazoo Clay" will never allow smooth roads.

No, it is not all bad. The worse is from Orange, TX to Baton Rouge, LA. Some massive construction into and out of San Antonio, TX where they are upgrading the intersections to meet the new Interstate standards while adding another couple lanes. I-20 in LA is worse in total because it bad all the way across LA. The worse part of I-20 being from the TX state line to Minden, LA. I drive I-10 yearly from El Paso to Jacksonville at least once a year, but I can't comment on I-10 west of El Paso

I-10 California

The I-10 from the CA/AZ border to the Pacific Ocean is nothing to be proud of. The portion in the Inland Empire in San Bernardino and Los Angeles counties are terrible for the most part. What I don't understand is the newer areas like the I210 in Rancho Cucamonga that even though they are new are like washboards. I don't get it.

Coming south from DC to Williamsburg VA. The rods have been refreshingly nice.

Wow, there is a huge surprise, the roads in and out of DC to Williamsburg are nice. Sorry for the sarcasm but gee, I wonder why... (more sarcasm). I am glad they are nice somewhere (no sarcasm intended).

One decent section is I-12 it connects with I-10 on both sides of New Orleans, it's like a shortcut/bypass for NOLA.

I-10 west of Houston to El Paso is good.

The best part is the 18 mile long Atchafalaya Basin Bridge, fair road except the speed limit is lower.
I don't know. I picked up I-10 in the panhandle and took it most of the way to Tucson. I thought it was pretty decent. There was a detour due to hurricane Michael. Mother nature asks no one for permission.

My only other detour was of my own doing and that was up over the mountain pass in El Paso to shortcut I-10 into Las Cruces.

I-10 is not that bad. I hear I-20 from MS to Shreveport with knock your teeth out of your mouth so I avoid it like the plague. I was stationed in Alexandria a long time ago. The state doesn't have a lot of money. It has a high 'dependency' level that diverts it's money elsewhere. Too bad really.

Just returning from Maine via some of the same roads you described. TERRIBLE is an understatement. New York wins the title for me. And, they charged the highest tolls. Obviously not spending that money on their roads.

Smooth, but

Left Murfreesburo AR, then to Hattiesburg left this morning enroute to Bainbridge GA., I-20 & I-30 so smooth. Hit I-10 west of Mobile AL enjoying a fairly nice ride, when the door on a concession trailer in the lane to my left decided to open!!! Put a few scratches on the body, but wiped out my mirror & camera.

Wow was I blind without that mirror/camera, used the rear cam & my cell on selfie mode out the window while we chased down the driver.

Can't imagine how much one of these costs. Drove to a close auto parts & bought an extension mirror used for towing & duct taped the thing with a third of a roll. It ain't coming off, I hope.

Only half way with our trip & we've had a water leak & now the mirror. Hopefully there's no more mishaps. PLEEZ

Up to 164K but that's with 11 axles (centipede). With the normal OTR truck its still 80K with 5 axles. Rules change drastically during Frost Laws when thawing occurs in the Spring.

Well, we travelled from Jacksonville to about El Paso on and off I 10. Trust me, it isn't bad compared to Utah and Mich.
The elevated sections are annoying but not really torn up. There is a lot of construction all across, so in a year or so should be much improved.

Terrible roads

Just drove thru Shreveport, LA on I-20 heading east. It’s the real pit of pits. Holes and cracked pavement all over. Couldn’t dodge one large hole and it sounded like the frame cracked. Sure hope not though. How can they let the pavement get in that terrible shape? Was bad 2 years ago and is only getting worse.
