Making a quick mobile app recommendation (just like the app, not affiliated with the company): iExit.
iExit
Perhaps some of you already use it. I just "rediscovered" it (I had it installed for quite some time, but just never got around to playing with it).
Unlike most navigation apps it doesn't give you a route to/from. Instead it determines which interstate your are travelling on, which direction you are going, and shows you all the exits that are ahead of you (including rest areas, and what is at each exit).
I've been playing around with it on my commute (as we're not going on a road trip in the immediate future) and so far it works pretty well (seems to run better on iOS than it does on Android but that could be my hardware).
