Yeah, Baltimore has a little bit better Airport than Dulles.

I agree BWI is a better airport. Plus if you fly into BWI you can go to G&M and eat some AWESOME crab cakes.

Do like the food Court at Union Station in DC though. So many different kinds of food.

And oh yeah. When you frame a picture of something, everyone jumps in front of the camera. So don't take your time focusing the lens, just 5,6 frames real quick and your bound to have one that's OK.

I can hardly imagine...taking that much time I mean.
Years ago I started a habit due to lack of time, of basically running through museums. I stop and read carefully the things that look interesting, but I miss a lot no doubt. I catch myself doing it even when I'm not in a hurry now.

I think that I'd stay away from Washington, D.C.

The hot air down there, is just too thick to be safe...

sorry: I just couldn't resist any longer...

It is not the heat but the humidity is what can be horrible. Not to even say anything about the traffic.

We've always gone out of our way to avoid the Baltimore/D.C. area; when travelling...

Even though there's probably a lot of stuff down there, that I wouldn't mind seeing...

I have delivered several truck loads of "Items" to the Smithsonian Complexes over the years. (Aerospace/Aircraft/Marine).
I am planning on going to see stuff on my own in the mornings... (NOT with a "Hurry up ..This is next,Can't you keep Up? guide") and then grab lunch somewhere and back to the shack for an afternoon nap...You see.....

A big 2nd on Cherry Hill Park! Stayed there last summer, and rode the train into DC every day. As mentioned, a bit pricey, but a very nice park with plenty of grocery stores and restaurants in the immediate area.

I totally agree with JaimieGeek about Cherry Hill Park! It was fantastic AND taking the metro in to DC was very easy. We drove to our Dad’s place in Michigan from California and then we went on to DC in 2016. I believe that Cherry Hill is one of the best RV Parks I have ever stayed at. My second favorite is Oasis RV Park in Las Vegas, NV! I hope you enjoy your trip!

I would go from DC up to Gettysburg then over to Philly. Great historical trip.

Oh yeah, I remember when I was in DC and took the tourist bus. We were right behind another bus fixing to pull out out of a spot after they got loaded and another one tryed to pull into the spot ahead and thier sides met near the exit doors. It wasn't too bad, our bus was ok and nobody got hurt, but we looked at those two busses a long time cause we couldn't back up for the busses behind us unloading.

Naval Academy at Annapolis has a campground -- not the nicest, but quite inexpensive -- good if you are just using it as a place to sleep while touring with a TOAD during the day.

If you are looking for a stop in VA we stayed at the Americamp just north of Richmond, https://americamps.com
It was nice, free waffles every morning except one day when they do a dinner. Literally across the street from a craft brewery if that is something your into. Quick ride into Richmond. We Will stay there again for sure.

Then you would be a straight shot up I-95 to DC. I think just under 2 hours.
