winter campgrounds

We are in Ontario, how far south do we have to go to find campgrounds open in the winter?

there are many in the U.S. that are open year-round, you'll have to do some google map searches in the area you want to travel to in order to know for sure - use 'rv park' or 'campground' in your map searches for a general area, then the points will start to pop up - giving you links to their website and info on their open months, etc.

Most important is which ones have water turned on and have heated bathrooms available. Many will be open but only provide electric power and sometimes, sewer. Base your travels on this and fill water tank while at the ones that have water. They may not specifically state the water issue in advance...they want your credit card number.

I'm not sure which area you care to travel to, but on the East coast, many folks head all the way to Florida.

There are some RV campgrounds open year round here in Pennsylvania.

I was in Daytona Beach, Florida a month ago & learned that several of the folks staying there from Quebec actually stayed a night in Jonestown/Hershey KOA on their way down.
https://koa.com/campgrounds/jonestown/

It is right off I-81, so very convenient for a day or two layover.

Also, a few more miles down the road is Twin Grove RV Resort. Awesome place in the spring/summer/fall, but it can get quite cold & snowy during winters here.

Best of luck.

There is a Yogi Bear that is open all year round in Frankenmuth, Michigan--their pool is even open year round (yes heated and enclosed).

Are you asking how far south you have to go to find one because you are headed to a warm destination for the winter, or are you asking how far south to find a CG to stay in for the winter months?

I think they just mean how far south from Ontario while traveling to wherever. Most everything is south of Ontario.

I once asked an RVer how he decided to winter in Florida. His response was, "I tied a snow shovel on the back of my rig, and kept driving south until someone asked me what that thing was!"

Might be a little out of your way but the campgrounds in and around Branson MO are open all year.

I used to live in Ohio, some of their State Parks, that also have camp spots, are open year round.
I believe you cannot keep a spot rented for over a month, keep you from moving in, lol.

A couple of these may be too far west for you, but:

St. Joseph, MO. https://aokcamping.com/
St. Louis, MO. https://sundermeierrvpark.com/
Nasvhille, TN. https://koa.com/campgrounds/nashville/
McDonough, GA. atlantasouthrvresort.com
Also, I googled 'campgrounds open year round' and got campgrounds that had 'open year around' on their websites.

Winter Campsites

Have stayed at KOA Jonestown/Hershey and they are open all year and have heated water lines and dump stations. You can also get real good chicken and breakfast at the office at great prices. Very close to I-81.
If you are in western Ontario its not worth the time to get there but if you are in Toronto or east just cross the border at 1000 Islands and stay on 81 to Jonestown. Its about a 6-7 hour trip from border
