We would never spend the night there, but when we need to shop while on the road, the extra security is wonderful. Also at car races people love to break into Rvs . We sleep better with the extra level of security even when we are at the best rv parks.

We keep one of these around at all times. No worries about where we stay.

A slimjim doesn't make a lot of noise but a bell on the chain can. The resistance will be more a deterrent for most, but if someone wants in, they will get in. At least with this if we are inside we will hear in time to pull back the hammer. Parked, it will draw too much attention if they have to jerk enough to break a chain.

We also used a come along, stronger than a chain, so either will do.

I always kind of liked leaving a box of .44 mag ammo up on the dash in plain sight...
Let them wonder where I'm hiding!

Yeah, her favorite spot is on the dash when we are in the parks. We let her be seen and don't bother locking the doors. She is a sweetheart but she will get her dander up if a stranger tries to come in. Wouldn't trade her for all the guns and ammo in the world

We've been fulltime for 10 years & NEVER been in an area that we felt we needed cables/chains on the doors, big dogs, or a gun, but we don't do Wal-Mart's, truck stops or state parks (too big for most of them), guess we've been very lucky.
