Windshield noise

Hi everyone, I’m hoping for suggestions from the thread regarding the best way to have the windshield resealed. I purchased a 2017 Thor WindSport 29M from a private party. They told me of a botched repair from General RV where they purchased it (basically someone put a black mastic type of sealant on two spots inside the RV). As you can imagine it was a bad job and only made a mess. I’m in the process of moving to the desert and want to get this fixed right ahead of time. I know I’ll have to pay for this and I’m ok with it. I just want it done right and the only place I could think of was Safelite and they only do claims. Dealers are backed up for summer fun.
Any suggestions?

You might try to get a mobile RV tech to do a fix. Good luck with this!

Thank you for the idea Mr. Sunshine. I’ll give it a shot. Funny thing is if it was broken it wouldn’t be an issue, it would just be replaced.

You don’t have access to a brick?

Seriously, you have got me to thinking. I have a new unit (had it less than a month) and there is a wind noise coming from the front drivers side. Now I’m wondering if that windshield was not properly sealed. Umm...

Mines on the passenger side about half-way up. It surprises me how difficult it is to find information on this. Surely someone has dealt with something similar before. The noise really takes away from the experience and I’m willing to pay to have it repaired; just looking for a place that will do it. Good luck on yours and if I find an answer I’ll post it on here.

We had to have the glass replaced due to damage from road debris...Binswanger Glass which is a National company did the replacement and guarantees their work...check to see if there is a franchise near you or your destination...they are prepared to do the job and do it correctly.

good luck !

Unfortunately there are no locations near me. I do have a location willing to look at it on Friday. I’ll let the forum know how our luck holds!

Another thought … check with Safelite … they were our primary source, from insurance, when we had the damage, They sent the job to Binswanger.

They were the first ones I called and I was surprised when they said they only replace broken or damaged windshields.
