2016 ACE 29.3 Question

My husband recently passed away and while I know a lot about my ACE, I do have a few questions...and the are probably stupid ones but here goes.

1. I'm going to be traveling with my grandchildren and I'd like them to be able to watch a movie on the DVD player. Do I need to have my generator going in order for that to happen?
2. I want to get my refrig started the day before to cool it off but plugging it into my house blows a circuit. Can I turn the refrig on propane and will it cool off? Will it use up all my propane? Do I need to do anything else to get the refrig working? Any other suggestions?

Sorry but these were always something he did. Thanks...

First off sorry about your husbands passing, but happy to see you are still using the rig!

Most likely the all will work while running. Myself I would run the generator, not only for power but it will keep the frig. running and the AC. That may make traveling with grandchildren a little easier.

Make sure your propane tank is full, you should however not use very much. Is it blowing the camper breaker, house breaker or the GFI outlet. You most likely do not have enough power to run much more than the frig. off house current, so make sure all 110 stuff is off. If you are tripping the GFI outlet try moving to anyother outlet and see if there is a change.

Yes fridge will work on propane. When i start mine up i put a frozen 1/2 gallon water bottle in the fridge and freezer. Helps it cool down much faster.

I'm tripped the house circuit and I can't reach another one. If I plug it in the day before, it won't use up all my propane?

No, the refer uses very little propane compared to all the other propane appliances (we go a full season or more before we have to fill the propane tank).

Over two days of just refer use the gauge on the propane tank won't even move.

My main tv plugs into 110 but actually works off of 12 volts. I made an adapter to plug into a dual cigarette lighter plug to run my tv and DVD player which also works off 12 volts so the grandkids can watch DVDs while we are traveling.

You can try flipping off your breakers in your rv leaving only your inverter and refrigerator breakers on and see if it still trips. Is the breaker you are plugging into a ground fault?

Make sure the unit is level before you run the refrigerator

Another refrigerator question

Other than the slide thing on the front of the refrigerator where you can choose propane, electricity or auto, is there any other switch to get the refrigerator on? I did the propane thing and the light went on but it doesn't seem to be getting colder. Any suggestions?

It takes a while to cool down. What brand of refrigerator do you have? On our new Norcold you push the button in and when the light comes on red it is on. if it is green it is off and out of gas
