Audio issue with axxera radio

New to this site and to Thor Motorhomes. We just purchased a 2018 Quantum WS31 on Tuesday. A lot of things bother me about our new rv but the Axxera radio has to be the worst. My question, is it normal for the audio to go off when you turn the left or right signal on and the radio switches to the side camera? If so is there a fix for this?

Mine works the same. Think its normal. They want you to concentrate when turning

Mine works the same way and yes, it is annoying. I don't think you can do anything about it.

Must be a newer Axerra radio problem. My 2016 ACE does not do that with the 614BH in it. Does it also go off in reverse? When you shift the mode to see the rear camera when traveling?

No, it doesn't do it when you shift to reverse or select the reverse camera while driving. Just the turn signals. There is about a 2-3 second delay after you hit your signal and after it goes off. Makes the side cameras pretty much useless. By the time the camera comes on your in the other lane. I am going to do some thread searching and replace this stupid stereo.

Well folks this is no longer an issue for me. We got the dealer to take this P.O.S back and we are buying a Tiffin Pheaton. Peace Thor people, I'm out of here.

Ours might be a different model Axxera, but when we set the rear camera view to constant the radio does not turn off when you use the turn signals.

On our VEGAS 2016 there is no issue with turn signals or backup. And the "switching" to side views is fairly smooth

Is there a setting on the radio that can eliminate the switching issue?

regarding this same issue...we have a 2016 24.1..and do not lose radio volume when using rear view or turn signals...one cannot adjust sound when in either of these modes...but radio works.
In addition...since we seem to travel in areas with little or no radio reception..we put to use our Bluetooth speaker, linked to my iPhone music library. It does come in handy and we, generally, bring along several cd's for more music. No..we have not set up Sirius...yet !

How do you do that?

That would be holding the "MODE" button in for about 2 seconds (until it shifts to camera view)

If I'm not mistaken, once you press the volume/power/mode button and get the option screen to open you can touch the screen also to select your options from the icons etc.

You could unplug the Camera Switch from the AXXERRA. That would stop all the video from the radio.

Was that what you were thinking?

Hit the "home" icon at the top left of your screen, then hit the "rear camera" icon. I tried this yesterday and now when the turn signal is on the camera still switches view, but the volume doesn't change.

Tries this and works perfectly. Have to go thru procedure over again when you turn the radio off then on but not a problem.

Thanks! Was going to ask this same question, after driving our '17 Challenger home from the dealer (it was back in for completion of warranty work we identified during PDI). So annoying, I found myself not using the turn signals unless I had to.

I agree, but it's a lot less annoying than the volume going away every time you make a turn.

Or you can install a 7" or 9" dash mounted monitor and forget about having to lean over and look at the crappy little screen on the radio. Several of us have installed 9" quad view monitors from https://www.rearviewsafety.com and now enjoy an excellent view of the cameras. The Rear View Safety monitor uses the same 5 pin connections as Thor for the cameras. Takes about 30 min to install.

This is the 9" quad view monitor, allows you to watch all three cameras at the same time, singled, or in multiple combinations.
