No hot water in the Rv

This is our first trip in our 2017 Miramar 34.2. We got in April and are trying to work the bugs out.
I have used both LP and 120 with the same results. We have hot water at the tank but none inside. At best the shower is lukewarm.

Any ideas?

Thanks carl

When you turn on the hot water tap only: what happens?

The water runs as it should but only gets lukewarm. We have checked the temp at the tank and it’s hot

Track your hot water line from the heater, back toward your faucet that you used for testing...
See what is happening along the journey: good luck!

Thanks Bob,

I’ve run water at all of the taps with same result. I’m thinking there is a valve somewhere I can’t find.

There are three valves that you use to bypass the heater when you winterize.
One is the cold in
One is the hot out
And the final one connects the cold to hot to bypass the heater when adding antifreeze for winteriazation. Sounds like that one is in the open position, should be closed.

Check to make sure both of your outside shower faucets are off. This has happened many times when the outside shower is off and the valves are on. I know this from experience.

Thanks all, we found the valves under a closet. After trying each one in turn we have the same results.
I need to return the coach to the dealer for some other things and I’ll just add that to the list.
Maybe someone can tell me how to clear a code on the slide control. The slide works find but it giving me a 9 code and I’m not sure how to clear it.

All and all I’ve only found a very few thing that need fixing and most are minor.

Thanks again to all.

Just in case...

When you turned the valves did you hear water filling the heater?
Are you testing propane and electric?

If the tank was empty when you turned the elec on you probably burned the heating element out. Heating elements are available at Lowes, Home Depot, Ace, etc.

Here's a short You Tube about the bypass valve.

We went out side and let som water out of the tank to make sure it was hot. Also the pipe coming out of the back of th tank is hot but only warm water is getting to tap.

We had the same problem in our ACE. It turned out that when the water heater was installed they used to long of a hose, so that when they pushed the water heater into place that it kinked the hose. It took CW two times to figure that out. They just assumed that it was just operator error.

Thanks that a good tip. I’ll have the shop check that when I take it in. We have checked all the valves and other things and everything looks ok.

My between my and me wee have had 2 TT and 3 MH also have replaced 2 hot water heaters but this has us stomped. He still drives my 1991 Overland.

Thank you all for your input.

Aren't grandkids GREAT
Glad he fixed it.

I had our granddaughter install our TPMS sensors on the inside rims, can't get my hands in there.

There is no water in the hot water tank - I’ve done nothing that I know of - cold showers are invigorating
Is there a valve somewhere?

Did you check out the video that explains how the valves should be set?
(It's in Post #10)

Neither of those photos show your water heater; that's what you are looking for to find the cutoff and bypass valves.
