2018 ACE 29.3 Roof Leaking

I am asking this question for a friend. His DW saw water on floor in bathroom. Further investigation revealed water inside light fixture. CW advised them that Thor will not repair because roof does not have one year warranty, only 90 days.

Is this true, only 90 days warranty on roof.

I'm sure they will find a way to pass the buck if we ever need it but our unit has paperwork stating the roof has a 12 year warranty.
I'm sure that's only to say it will not fall down around our ears for 12 years. Water leaks may be the one thing not covered.
Seriously, it will be best for the coach if someone will go up and start sealing around not only over the bath but all cutouts. Leak could be coming in at one location and taking the path of least resistance.

That sounds right. CW did give (sale) my friend caulking to do the job himself or they would do it for several hundred $$$.

I try to do preventive maintenance on my Windsport as often as I can. So far, I love my RV. When I retire a second time, might just live in it full time.

I believe the TPO roof itself has a 10 or 12 year warrantee, but the sealant used to seal all the roof mounted equipment, and the sealant sealing the front and rear caps is probably what they were referring to with the 90 day warrantee. Our dealer suggests checking, or having checked all the sealant every six to eight months.

CW is FOS, the roof is covered under the 12 month warranty!!! CWJust doesn’t want to do the work after the sale, not unusual for them!

We had a couple of small leaks when we first bought our 2017 Vegas. I didn’t want to take the time to take it in so I tried using the flex seal spray on product that you see advertised on TV. It took care of the problems very easily. A can is about $11.00 on Amazon. It beats the hassle of trying to get the dealer to fix it under warranty!

As much as it's no fun to have to do the work yourself: it's often easier and better to give it a good "DIY treatment", and leave the dealer out of it***



*** Assuming of course that there is no permanent damage to the inside of the rig!

Tell your friend to not waste his or her time. Go straight to the top of Camping World headquarters.

I can guarantee you...you will get a call from Camping World in one day.
