29h Leveling Jacks installed too low to ground

The leveling jacks on my 29h have only 6" of clearance between the ground & the bottom of the jack pad. The Lippert OEM installation manual says there should be 8" clearance. I called Thor - they said jacks were installed wrong - take it to an authorized repair place. I have a local RV repair shop some neighbors use. Wondering if I can take it there? Or I can even raise them up myself? The jacks are bolted on. There are two more holes that they can be raised up. I would appreciate any comments at all. I'm a newbie so any & all comments-questions-snide remarks are welcome.

In this day and age of companies trying to find ways out of paying for things I would take it to the authorized dealer. This way if something were to happen after the fact it would be easier to get covered. That would be the only reason for not doing the work myself.

Another 29H..
Mine had just about 8" of clearance. I wouldn't worry about the rear ones anyway: the rear tires pick you up and over anything that might catch them.
As far as the front... How comfortable would you be in unbolting and refastening something that will have to hold your rig up?
Be aware that raising them will also reduce the amount of adjustment that you have available.

Thanks for the info. The front jacks can't go any higher. There's clearance to raise back jacks one hole- maybe two. No hoses or wires in the way. My concern is 6" enough clearance do you think to get over a speed bump? Closest Authorized repair is CW. Drove 100+ miles to buy the 29h so really difficult to get back would have to rent something. Next appointment is October15th. Is it OK to drive RV with 6" clearance and leave it? I have to say a big "thanks" to everyone who has been on this forum. If a friend hadn't told me about this forum I can't think what I would do.

They unbolt very simple... as long as the hydraulic lines have enough slack, and I have no reason to believe they wouldn't it should be a very straight forward task. If the spec calls for 8" I'd make it to spec.

I don't know of any reason why you couldn't use the local RV shop. Call Thor first. They may be on their approved list. If not, it just means you need to send an estimate and pics with problem description to Thor, get authorization (about a day). One other thing is, the repair shop may ask you to pay them, and you get reimbursed by Thor. I did have to do that, but it was worth it to me not to go back to CW, wait three weeks, get sloppy work done, etc,

I made appointment at local RV repair. He's reasonable & does good work. I believe he's authorized for Winnebago & Tiffin & a few others. I'm going to print out specs & go over them with the tech (it's a small shop). Appreciate suggestion to take pics and send estimate to Thor. Only local approved repair shop is CW. I am already on record with Thor about this issue. Based on how the rig was handling & what I read here - took the big boy in for an alignment. Big improvement in handling. Got my 29h in mid-July. First thing was parking brake didn't fully release. Two weeks for appointment then another 3 weeks @ CW. Maybe I've had my share of "issues" AND I haven't been on a shakedown trip yet. You gotta laugh. Where's Ralph Nader when you need him?

If it is still covered by Thor warrantee then go to authorized dealers. I have Lance Campers HQ 2 miles from my house, but Thors said using anyone other than authorized dealer will void all warrantees.

That is a direct contradiction to what Thor told me. They even sent me a check for the warranty work done by my local mobile RV repair service.

The only caveat they gave me was, get an estimate and a detailed description of the problem, send to Thor for approval prior to the work.

So maybe by "authorized" they're referring to that approval, I don't know.

Thor told me too OK to use local mobile repair but need prior authorization for work. BUT - I'm going to leave well enough alone with the jacks for now.

Once again the Thor factory screws up. OMG - they do not care at all.
Get it on and out the door so we can slap another one together - let the dealer fix the problems! UNREAL!!!!!
