31E not charging chassis by design? thoughts?

i have a 31E and the chassis does not charge via shore or generator power (by design from thor.) im just curious why thor would design it like that. for what reason?

i am thinking of changing out the isolator for one like in a type A or geting a DC battery charger like this to maintain the chassis battery.

Find your solenoid that connects the battery banks, check voltage on control wires and you will know

Use a similar maintainer on some toys and it works well, best to start with fully charged batteries

There are many coaches that do connect and others that don't. Have no idea why the difference.

If anything probably just to save money on the solenoid and bird unit.

Look at your 120 volt circuit breaker panel. If you see a 15 amp circuit breaker labeled "charger", then the charger should charge the house batteries. If you have an emergency start switch, then your charger should also charge your chassis battery (Mercedes chassis RV excepted).
