About had enough!

I love this site. Have always helped in past but it seems every time we get ready to take off in our 2015 Thor Vegas 24.1. There is an issue. Today it’s none of TVs come on. Microwave. Or AC. We had a new electrical converter installed about 1 year ago. In house batteries are fully charged. I also noticed the outlet in bathroom doesn’t light up. Can someone give me some insight on what’s happening. I did check all breakers. HELP!!

Everything you mentioned would have nothing to do with house batteries or converter... Those are on the 12v side of things...
The TVs, microwave, and AC are all on the 110v side - shore power or genny...
What is your source of 110v? Plugged in or genny?

Did you check the breaker on the shore power pole?

You also might check your AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH to see if there are loose connections ( make sure generator is off and shore power disconnected before checking)

We had issues with our ATS connections and they melted the wire nuts and actually burnt the wiring...

To GMC we have it plugged in at our home. We’ve done this in past just to check if things are working and never had a problem. We actually tried our generator but it wouldn’t start up either.

Are you plugged into a 30 amp source? If so, are you using an EMS from your power supply to plug your cable in? It should tell you if you are receiving power from your home hookup. Assuming your home breaker that powers it isn't tripped. Try resetting it if you haven't already. Start with the simple things.

Would not prevent the Air Conditioner from working.

Ok... so moving down the line... with a volt meter...
Insure 110v at house plug.... (if using an adapter, check coming out of that too). If using some form of EMS, it will show voltage.
Then check at RV end of shore cord for 110v...
If working to that point, with RV disconnected, inspect plug at entry to RV...
Next inspect transfer switch for loose wires or frozen contacts...again with power disconnected.
Then main breaker in RV.
See how far down that line the power is and what you find.

When you say genny wouldn’t start, does it turn over?
That would be started from 12v house batteries...

Not sure how your Inverter was wired by Thor but in my Class C the Inverter powered the TV's and Thor used the built-in breaker on the Inverter for the AC output to the TV's.

You may want to take a look at how your Inverter is wired and whether there is an internal breaker or whether there is an issue with the AC output of the Inverter.

Inverter is not stock in Vegas.. nor would it affect the AC or microwave in this size rig. Appears nothing 110v is working.

It can be daunting, but electricity flows, just like water. Follow the power from the pole and you may find the problem.

Thanks everyone but this seems a bit more complicated that I was hoping. I am handicapped and my husband has a very bad back so neither one of us can get down to check these things out. Looks like a trip to dealership. Last year they had it over a month to fix the electrical issue. Was hoping not to have to go through that again. Had motor home for 18 months and have only gotten to get away for short trips 5 times and one long trip to Florida. Might have to rethink the motor home lifestyle. Thanks again!

Instead of taking it to the dealer again, try a mobile RV repair or an electrician. Might be able to get it looked at and fixed same day.

I agree with Spc, a local mobile RV tech would be the best option. That way they can also check out your home power source that you are plugged in to. They are quicker to schedule, faster repair and cheaper.

Thanks everyone. We replaced all fuses and then plugged back in and everything is working now. We have an extended warranty so I’m under the impression that we have to take to dealer to keep from paying out of pocket. We just have a deductible at dealer. Again we are so new at this but I appreciate all your help and input.

Check your policy and/or call the people that handle it. I doubt you have to go to the dealer with the extended warranty.

Ok one more question on this subject and then I will call someone. I unplugged RV this morning and the AC, TVs, and Microwave won’t come on. Do these run on shore power or generator only? Everything works fine when plugged in. The panel shows Batteries are fully charged. Sorry I’m so dumb at this. I guess should have done more research before considering this lifestyle. Just got too old for tent camping.

Keep asking questions.... here to help.

In the Vegas, the AC, TV's, Microwave (and any 110v outlets) run on shore power or generator only...

Some other rigs add an inverter (stock or after market) to run some appliances, but AC and Microwave typically remain shore power / generator.
