Generator/electric problem

Camping with our vegas 24.1. Generator power, no shore power. Was using hair dryer, outlet shut off as well as power to tv, microwave and ac. Only thing running eith hair dryer at time was tv and ac. Yes, ac in Florida. Tried our tech support, they stuck. Checked all circuit breakers and fuses. Generator is running. Does it have a circuit breaker???

GFCI needs reset. Often located in the bathroom receptacle.

The generator does have a circuit breaker on the generator itself. Also, it could be the transfer switch (which switches power between the generator and shore power and the breaker panel)

On ours, we had loose connections in the transfer switch and had the connections actually ARC and melt the wirenuts severing the connections. We found our TRANSFER SWITCH under the stove (it will be a black box with wires going into it, especially orange wires) We had to do a scavenger hunt to find ours since it wasnt where THOR said it was..

Check your GFI OUTLETS . You may have tripped one. You can reset by pushing the button back in the GFI.

Yes I am sure it was covered in your PDI. It is on the generators right side front just above the carrying frame. Remember all circuit breakers certified for 90% of their rated intermittent load so you 30 amp circuit breakers will trip in 30 seconds of current loads above 27 amps. Your generator's circuit breaker is certified for 33 amps. (120 volts x 33 amps= 3,960). If your generator's voltage drops to 110 volts, the extra current flow to keep the equipment operating could trip a CB even if you thing your operation in a safe area.

On my ACE 4KW Onan generator the breaker is located in the red circle on the attached (bottom of drawing)......but I am not sure what gen your coach has so it might be elsewhere.

Yes, the generator would still be running, just no juice.

If you take the cover off the generator, the breaker is just to the right of the START STOP SWITCH

The Onan Generator has a breaker that you can turn back on . It's around the right side of the start stop switch in the generator compartment. Turn off as many items you can and then turn the breaker switch off to reset then turn it on .

It can be hard to spot hidden behind hoses and stuff. Been there done that.

Sometimes being brave and letting your fingers do the walking (with power disconnected) can be better than all the manuals in the world...

That's how we found that breaker when our TRANSFER SWITCH burnt up (so it wasn't actually the breaker), but THOR was taking us on an extended scavenger hunt through the coach..

And, only 60 days after we took delivery, it was an education of how the coach was actually put together...
