Ace tv shutting off

Awhile ago I posted a ? if anybody has had the same issue with their tv's shutting off for no reason. Well this weekend I think I narrowed it down to the water heater. If I switch on the 110v water heater when it turns on the tv shuts off. (Looses power) I called Thor and they don't have a clue why. It doesn't trip a breaker it just shuts off the tv. They will eventually come back on(I'm assuming when the water heater gets to temp and it turns off the heating element) let me know if anyone has the same kind of issue. Thanks

Sounds like the outlet the TV is on shares the power with the water heater through one of these:
Products - Energy Management - Smart energy management systems - Automatic energy select switch

Your unit may be mis-wired. You may want to contact Thor and get the complete wiring diagram for your coach.

I agree with Jamie, must be on the same circuit. When water heater kicks on it is probably dropping voltage below threshold for the tv which is why it shuts down. Water heater should be on its own circuit.

Call or email Thor, ask for wiring diagram, they'll send it fairly quick. Check the diagram against what you have and you'll know. Try turning off breaker for water heater and see if TV goes off too.

TV issues

We have an ACE 30.2 and no TV shutdown issues. I run the 110 component of the water heater exclusively to save propane. What is happening in your rig is not normal. I agree with the advice you have been given--check the wiring. To find out which circuit they are wired to, with the H20 electric element on, turn off the circuit breaker labled water heater. If the water heater turns off, check to see if the TV turns on. If that is not the end of it, then find the circuit they are both on. My 30.2 came with a gas and electric water heater; before that was standard I would add the electric component to the gas heater--and was very aware of the amperage draw as not to overload the circuit I "attached" to. Good luck.
