Water pump Chateau 31W issue

Hello All! I am new to Thor. I can not find the water pump. I can not get any water from fresh water holding tank to run in the rig. I am not hooked to outside water. Not sure what is up. LoL Also and unrelated (I think). On the passage side 2nd compartment from the right under the outside TV compartment. What the hell is that? LoL Thanks in advance for the help.

When you turn the water switch on, do you hear the pump cycle on? The water pump is adjacent to the fresh water tank - in my Axis it is under the bed. As to your “what is it” question, you might take a picture and post it.

The water pump is probably under the master bed at least mine is on my 30fe. Can you hear the pump cycling? If it’s turning on you should hear it. When I thought my pump was out last year it ended up being a cheap relay that’s also under the bed.

Hello, I can hear it come when I flip the switch. It is not under my bed. My unrelated question I figured out. It is the hydraulic pump for the slide and/or jacks.

I find that if you go on UTube and look at videos of your coach being sold by RV Dealers you can learn a lot about what you may have missed when you "might have" been given a walk through of your coach. For example I think under the exterior TV of the Chateau is the hydraulic pump for the jack system if the attached picture is what you are seeing. Attached is a typical walk around for the Chateau 31W....not sure if the year is the same.

Do you have the manual that shows how to winterize your unit? Since you can hear the pump my guess is one of the valves is closed not allowing the water to cycle.

There could be a variety of reasons you are not getting water through your system.....the simplest is: do you have fresh water in the fresh water tank? If this is your first coach then I am attaching a generic plumbing diagram for a "typical" basic RV to help you visualize things. Of course every coach has variations of this (drains and valves could be different or in different locations) and the more you investigate your coach the more you will find out about its particular layout and devices.....what they do and where they are located.

I would suggest finding the inlet to fill the water tank. That will help you determine the location of the tank. The pump will be in close proximity to the tank. I am certain there are some 31W owners on this forum that will jump in with exact location. Sometimes they can be hard to find.

I own a 2017 Chateau 31W. The water pump is under the bed next to the fresh water tank. The compartment you mentioned is the hydraulic system for the leveling jacks, not the slide out.

I've attached a PDF for the water pump, and the water system schematic. I tried to attach the full owners manual, however the file was too large to post here.

Here is a link to the Thor owners' resource web page: You'll need to create an account with your coach information. It has a wealth of information about your coach to include all (or most) manuals for the on-board systems. Also a copy of the coach owners manual.

Happy reading

On our chataeu 31 it is under the bed, we found out that it wasn't anchored to the floor, and walked, which broke a pipe

31w water pump

I have a 2015 31w and the water pump is under the mattress left top, there is a panel you lift up and there it is.

Not necessarily. Our tank is in the far rear drivers side corner. Our pump is in the water bay in the compartment forward of the rear tires.
