Axcera AV614BH is DOA
Hello All!
So my radio is dead. I just got off the phone with Thor support. We checked all the fuses, and of course that the house battery was on. We also tried the paper clip reset thing as well. Didn’t have any luck.
Does anyone know if there is some sort of in-line fuse behind the radio? Has anybody had a similar issue?
Thanks in advance!
Bill

In my coach, from plant 750; not plant 850 like your Challenger) there is a 5 amp inline fuse in the power wire to the radio behind the radio. I found when I pulled the radio to wire a 9" camera monitor. If you are lucky, you can see it by removing the instrument access panel on top of the dash.

This happened twice to me. Unplug it from the back of the radio and plug back in.

How do I get the radio out? I took off the plastic trim and can see the while radio and cage it sits in.

Got to YouTube and search for DIN radio removal. They all remove the same way.

Ok. I took it out. There’s a 15 amp fuse plugged in the back which is fine. I unplugged the harness and plugged it back in. Still nothing. Is it toast?
Thanks guys,
Bill

Did you check the fuse with a meter or visually? I'd use a test light or meter to verify power through the fuse going to the radio. If you have full voltage then the radio is most likely toast.

Alright. I don’t have a meter, but I’ll see if I can borrow one.

Axcera AV614BH is DOA
Hi All!
I wanted to post an update, because I hate when I don’t know what the ending is on some of these threads! LOL.
I couldn’t find a test meter or light. So I just drove it down to the radio shop about an hour from my house. He tested the radio and sure enough it was toast. But the ride was worth it.
It turns out the radio was covered under my extended warranty. So the warranty company is replacing the radio and my radio guy is waving the deductible. But here’s the best part - my radio guy doesn’t stock Korean pieces of crap. So we have to replace it with a brand new pioneer! All covered by the warranty company.
Thanks again for all your help. I really appreciate it.
Bill

Good to hear you got it taken care of Bill. And under warranty to boot!
Could you post the model number of the pioneer unit? I may just get proactive for once and scrap my Axcera before it dies.

Sure!
It's nothing too fancy, no Navigation, but it sounds great and has Apple Car play which is terrific

Hello Bill,
I see you are from CT...We live in Newport, RI. We are still shopping for our first RV and was wondering where you bought yours and how was the service?

Hey you did the right thing. Ours did not work so we took it to camping world twice and they replaced it with the same model. It didn’t work second time out. Got tired of messing with it so replaced it with a pioneer too!

What extended warranty do you have. I had same thing happen and I replaced it with a Kenwood. I didn't try extended warranty.
