water pressure issues - solved!

We have had issues with water pressure and flow while running on water pump for over a year on our 2017 Axis 24.1. This has caused problems with our tankless water heater. We have had periods of no hot water, too hot water, intermittent hot water. Very frustrating since we like to boondock and often stay in national or state park campgrounds, without hookups. Our hot water always functioned perfectly with city water hookup.

All our problems were caused by plastic shavings obstructing our water lines (see picture)! These plastic shavings never made it to the inline filter. The obstruction was at the beginning of the white flexible water hose. I disassembled the water line from the tank to the water pump and a clump of plastic shavings fell out! I used and air compressor to blow out the line, reassembled and our water flow problem was solved. Now our water pump runs strong, smooth, and quite - with perfect hot water.

I also found plastic shavings in our water tank drain line. Now it takes about an hour to drain the water tank instead of days.

If these problems sound familiar, check your water lines.

It's amazing how much crap Thor leaves in "unseen" places.

Im glad you found the probems and shared with us. This thread might help others down the road.

My fresh tank takes forever to drain as well. I will have to check and see if shavings are blocking the drain tube.

Plastic shavings were also blocking our fresh water tank air vent. You can remove the screen outside next to the water fill and clear it.
