DIY Appliance screens?

I'm looking to install some screens on the vents servicing all the appliances in our Windsport - water heater, furnace, fridge etc. I figure I can buy a sheet of fine-meshed metal stock screen for less than the cost of a single "store bought" screen. Leftover screen handy for repairs if needed.

Question is how to attach. Has anyone done this before, and if so, how did you attach the screen inside the vent covers? Quick search of forum didn't give me any results.

Wondering if there's an appropriate adhesive, or maybe some sort of hi-temp non-flammable duct tape.

Thanks all,

I leave the screens off and use the ground level nest to indicate I need to clean the two air conditioners. The only reason the mud daubers built next in the lower level is because the roof level if fully occupied. Be sure to check the top of the generator as that seems to be the preferred lower level position.

Thanks for the pointers - guess I'll go climbing this weekend to check the AC unit. I've knocked a few of last falls daubers out of generator and water heater bays. Now need to troubleshoot furnace - and hoping it's only "buggy" and not a more serious issue. Won't need it for a while, but it would have been nice to have it working last weekend in the NC foothills.

On my previous RV and on my current Vegas, I installed the pre-made screens to cover the water heater vent and refrigerator vent; the furnace exhaust already had a built-in screen. Today I discovered wasps going in and out of the stove exhaust fan vent. Anyone else have this problem and how did you solve it? I can't quite see how to put a screen over that opening. Thanks.

The hood vent over the stove of our 2016 Axis had a flap on it and only opened when the fan was running so it was never an issue for us. I bought all the right screen covers for the refrigerator, furnace and water heater on Amazon and installed them.

I buy a large dog flea collar. Cut it up and put a piece in back of refrigerator, water heat cabinet and furnace. Works well for me

Ah ha! Axis Earl, I think you may have found the problem, i.e., my RV may be missing the flap that should cover the stove's hood exhaust. I'll check to see if that's a part that should be there. K0LCB, thanks for the tip about using flea collars.
