Axis Chassis Battery Replacement

I was tired of the periodic problem of the chassis battery on our Axis going dead.... Just had it replaced with a maintenance free battery and added a trickle charger hook-up to it... The biggest issue was the access to the battery. Removed the work desk and then cut the access hole. We also had a hinge added for future maintenance issues. While the area was accessed I also had them lengthen the air ducts and flex tie them so they are well away from the battery. Read on the forum that someone actually had the metal in the air ducts contact the positive battery post and cause a fire. Something to check out on your rig. $$$$$$$

I generally take a "if it aint broke, don't fix it," attitude, but it seems like I will be dealing with the chassis battery eventually. So your post got me to thinking I should be a little proactive.
From the picture I see that they have routed out 99% and then sealed that up. after you put a hinge on it how did you reseal it?

Kind of interesting, but ours wasn't cut at all... Resealed it with caulking for now.
