Axis motorized awnings

Thor Customer Care office is closed now. I'm trying to find out the brand of awnings Thor supplied on their 2017 Axis models. Mine was motorized and had a strip of LED lights across the entire width of it. Made rookie mistake couple of days ago and drove away from our campsite in SC with awning still out. All was good until we passed the first tree...instant destruction!!!
No brand name anywhere on it that I can find and nothing in our 'bag' of owners' manuals that came with the unit. Need to file an insurance claim but can't tell insurance company what brand of awning it was. Will call Thor Cust. Care in morning to see if they can advise, if no one here knows. Thanks!

The patio awning manufacturer should be in the list of companies and vendors which supplied parts and equipment for your coach should be on the inside of a closet door in the bedroom. I don't know about plant 650 (never been there), but plant 750 and plant 850 gas coaches use the Latitude by Carefree of Colorado. They are extremely responsive to owners and have a great website which sells directly to owners. <http://www.carefreeofcolorado.com/products/latitude.html>

Don't know for sure about your motorhome but my Miramar uses Carefree of Colorado.

Called Thor Cust. Service this morning. Awning on my Axis 25.5 was made by Carefree of Colorado, 18 ft. Traveler model # EK18006E. Called my insurance co. to file a claim, since it looks like replacing it, with labor is going to be in the $2500. range, less my $500. deductible.

Ouch! That must have made a terrible noise, right before the explosion in your head.

I have a short checklist hooked over a screw on the window next to the driver's seat. I go down the list before leaving a campsite.

Awning retracted is #5 on my list. TV antenna is #4. Windows closed? Cabinets latched? My list includes stabilizer jacks retracted. Do I have my billfold, cell phone and (non-alcoholic) beverage in reach? Is the GPS set?

Every now and then the checklist catches something I have missed. Your list will vary, and may need adjusted over time.

A checklist is a great idea. The one I often forget is to lock the deadbolt on the door so my wife doesn't fall out.

I am not always this organized (Mrs S will swear to that), but I have another checklist for preparing for an RV trip. It starts two weeks ahead, prompting me to start checking off things first that might require parts or outside help. It saves me from that last minute panic, when things don't work and it is time to leave!

Agree! I have a 3 ring binder with forms I made both for loading out at home and for breaking down camp. It's pretty detailed and even includes things like everything in shower secure. A bar of soap can Crack the floor.

A neighbor, who lives on his boat and travels in it, also suggested a check list, which he uses. Guess I'll be making one in the near future.

In the owners' manual I compiled for my 2015 Vegas I developed several checklists. I have on for setting up and another for earing down. They are located in the front of the manual. Here is a link to download the manual:
