Axis/Vegas Windshield

Does anyone have any tips or tricks for cleaning the inside of the windshield? It looks getting to that dome could be challenging.

on returning from trips we clean the RV top to bottom outside and in. Wife sat and layed on the dash to clean the front windshield inside. She is lighter than me.

Thanks for reply. My fear is that the dash doesn't seem firm enough to hold an adult like me, 190 pounds, moving around on it. And that appears to be the only you're going to get that windshield clean.

Lots of people are reluctant to climb on their dash! Look at Wal Mart or an auto parts store for a gizmo with a handle and microfiber towel attached, makes cleaning easy. Spray with glass cleaner and go to it. Clean at a time when the sun isn't on the windshield, it dries out the glass cleaner to quickly.

I can clean the inside of the front window on our Axis without crawling on the dash or using a long handled gizmo. It just takes a bit of stretching and using the dash for a little support.

Jamie,

You must be

1. A lot taller than me (5'9")
2. A lot younger than me (70)
And 3. More motivated than me

1. Only by 1"
2. Yes by a couple of decades
3. Not sure about that--we only clean the inside of the front windshield about once or twice a year.

At the risk of hijacking the thread, but so as to not create a new thread....

Does anyone know if there is a change in size/dimensions of the 2018 windshield and driver/passenger windows from the 2017 and even 2016?

I wanted to order a magne shade for my 2018 which is on order, and since there is a 4+ week lead time, ideally didn't want to wait to take delivery on the coach before ordering the shade.

Does the gizmo have a swivel head? If so it would work well on our Prius' too. Also do you spray the towel or the windshield?

Our early 2016 was one of the last with the taller windshield. Suggest you call Thor for the 2018 windshield dimensions. No salesperson will be able to answer a question like that.

I do the same thing as Jamie -- just wedge myself in front of the seats and stretch. I do keep my sunshade so the bottom is even with the darkened sunscreen, so if I can't stretch all the way up into the corner, it's no big deal.

I'm only 5'4" and am 73 -- so if I'm nimble enough to make the stretch, it should be a piece of cake for you tall youngsters.

Nimble reminds me of something that happened to me at the end of May. We pulled in and started to set up in Raleigh Oaks RV park in NC. When I went to get stuff out of the rear exterior storage compartment I discovered the lock was jammed and I couldn't open the passenger side storage door. I opened the opposite outside door on the driver's side, emptied, the compartment and the pass through -- grabbed my pliers and climbed into the compartment and crawled through the pass through and disassembled the jammed lock from the inside. There were two older gentlemen sitting under their awning on the site next to me. When I crawled backwards out the pass through and jumped down from the compartment, one of the gents watching me said, "That was pretty nimble for a geezer."

To start with (although I'm just waiting for it to cave in) I climb on the dash. Each has their own way but the only way to clean this windshield and get it clean is to park facing the sun. Several times when I thought it was absolutely sparkling clean and turned into the sun it looked worse than when I started. You simply can't see all the streaks your leaving on these big ol windshields unless the sun is shining straight at you.
