It should work. Take it back to the dealer

I would take it back. Sounds like someone forgot to hook up a wire or one came loose

We had problem with a few wires around our unit that were not connected. So good chance wire not connected to that switch

Make sure you are pressing on the upper part of the switch to start, the lower part of the switch with the indicator light is to stop the generator. Easy mistake to make.

Press the switch down to prime the generator prior to starting. If using the dash switch, I believe the light will come on steady when the generator is primed. If using the other switch the hour meter will display when the genny is primed. Priming makes starting the generator easier.

Well at least you found the problem and its not a major one! Getting in there to make the connection may be interesting, I had to talk my wife in to doing something similar for me since she has little hands, she hasn't let me forget it since! Lol

Dash switch

Had my wife get her small hands running around behind the right center ac vent, she found a cannon plug that was not plugged into anything.. then I looked and it was the right one, after fishing and running it a little different direction I got it to plug in it works
