Electric step is not extending

Is there a fuse or breaker somewhere that could cause this ?

There could be a fuse...

... or many reasons.
You need the make/model of your step, find the manual, in yer glovebox or online and read the "Troubleshooting" section.
When/If you need more help, provide information please.

Mine was stuck just from surface rust. Try putting some PB blaster or wd40. The smallest thing can make that step stick

I don't think it's rust or anything stuck, the steps look pretty clean. I am trying to find out what fuse powers that step. I don't have a wiring diagram as part of my manual, will try to find that online. It's a 2021 Sprinter chassis, Thor Delano 24TT.

Once you answer post #2 more pertinent information is able to be provided:

The schematic for a Lippert step is different than the schematic for a Kwikee step. If you don't know what you have create an account at the Thor Owner resource Website with your VIN and download your manuals.

Ah, the Thor owners website is great, I didn't know that was available. Looks like I have Kwikee step, reading the manual now. Thanks for the help with this !

Check green ground wire make sure your getting good contact. Located under stairs. Keep hands and arms clear of steps. If you are not getting a good ground system will not work.

Good luck. Be careful

Did you hear something break?

Thor recalled this years ago and mine was under warranty.

There was an issue with the main bolt breaking.

if your steps got wet in a rain storm, they might just need a day or two to dry out. it is a simple thing to pull the cotter pin and close the steps. after that you tie them off for travel.

It could be something simpler. There is a magnetic sensor near the bottom step in the coach. If it is not in the proper position the steps will not deploy properly. A little gorilla glue or similar may be all you need.

2017Hurricane31S. Electric step will not extend. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. All battery and fuses ok. Under step light works fine. Can’t figure out why this is happening. Is motor going bad? Any advised would be appreciated.

You also should check the magnetic contact point on the door that operates the steps when you open and close them. Make sure it is clean and making a good contact.

If the light is working as it should when the door is opened/closed, then I would say the door mag. contact is working properly. Put a voltmeter (or test light) on the two wires to the motor, this would confirm if the motor is good/bad.

I had a similar issue. I noticed that my Kwikee Steps would sometime randomly retract when it should have stayed extended? It was very hard to prove.

Last year while at a football tailgate party, I noticed that the steps would retract every time the door closed despite the switch set for steps to stay extended. No one else may have noticed it was problem; but it drove me crazy to see and hear those steps going in and out every time someone went into RV.

I took nuclear approach, with Kwikee, local Dealer, and Winnebago. Three months later nothing The only thing that made sense to me was the Kwikee diagnostics steps over the phone which proved all Kwikee components were working (they sent me new motor anyway).

Winnebago was willing to pay to get it fixed, but the local dealer had to find the problem, but they couldn't. Then one day the dealer charged me Service Diagnostic because they say they could not replicate the problem. I am sure their intent was to make me go away, it worked

So determined to find problem; I started tracking the 12v from the switch back to breaker. Took me some doing, but I confirmed the voltage was always the same as well as the 12v bus. Then one day, I noticed the drop in voltage after shutting a compartment hatch I then took the breaker panel off and traced the wires behind the panel and found a connector that I did not know exist. I pulled it apart and saw where one pin, which happens to be the pin that supplies the 12v power to the did not have a proper male / female connection I fixed that and problem has not occurred since.

There was a recall for that, dang it, I just replaced the step motor because the worm gear stripped out, and found the gear plate bolt broke, and of course some genius welded the bolt to the nut on the top side .
