Axxerra AVM70 screen problem

Driving down the road with the headlights on, the screen on our in-dash radio suddenly dims, then gets bright and back and forth. I can get it to stop for a while by adjusting the light dimmer for the dash lights. Has anyone else experienced this and what the fix was?

My fix was to replace the Axxera unit with a better quality radio.

My display problem is that the display doesn’t look as shown in the manual. I have no "camera" option so my backup camera only works when in reverse. I like to check my Jeep while towing & this thing probably wouldn’t like being put in reverse on the highway....not to mention that tailgater!

Do you have a "MODE" button?

I found the dashboard dimmer switch messes up the radio lighting if dimmed. I leave the dimmer to full bright, I believe the radio has its own dimmer functions. but the dash has to stay full bright.

I noticed mine doing it at dusk or dawn indicating there may be a light sensor automatically trying to dim it.

Replaced mine with a Kenwood Excelon 595. Very happy with the radio. Was able to use existing rear camera. I watch my car the whole time I am towing.

Does it support the side mirror cameras?

Actually I think they all may. My understanding is there is a switch box before the camera input into the radio that switches off your turn signals from left, right, rear. The thing to look for is the camera I put rather than a side camera capable.

Brand. Finding a quality radio with RV GPS not to many around. Pricey but you get what you pay for.

Did you self install it?
If not, where did you take it to?

Actually, we want to know if it replaces the indash radio, physically removing the old.

Yes, my model has it's own internal dimmer capability. Took me a bit to figure it out. I keep the dash on bright and adjust the Axxera as needed.

Screen issue

I have a 34F hurricane
The display on the radio avm70 is fuzzy.
The display fuzzy When it is in either menu mode or radio mode However the image is clear when displaying the rear camera
It had done this before when it got hot over the previous summer But after cooling down the screen image returned to normal
This year, it is stuck with the fuzzy display Even after running the a/c for a long period

I am about to turn it on our warranty
Any advice would be appreciated

Upper left corner of the Axxera there is a "gear" looking icon that is for settings. Touch the settings icon and a home screen opens with the rear camera feature on it. Press the rear camera icon and the rear camera is on without being in reverse. The only issue is having to reset the rear camera every time you use a turn signal and the turn signal camera comes on. In our rig that is the co pilots job.

There is a firmware update that fixes this problem:

- It will return to the rear camera after using the turn signal
- It will not mute the radio when using the turn signal

Product Firmware Updates
