back of Vegas coach touching tail pipe

We just spent some time in Crater lake national Park. This park gets its name from the road conditions...

This evening, I noticed that the exhaust pipe is touching the coach frame. I'm pretty sure it didn't used to do that. I don't see anything obviously wrong back there, and it drives really well. Does anybody else have that, or is there generally clearance between the frames and the tail pipe?

Thanks,
Andy

Sounds like it got bent somehow, just a little. Ours hangs below the sidewall by about 1/4" to 1/2"--doesn't touch.

Thanks Jamie. Looking at it some more, the tail pipe goes quite a ways from the last place it is supported. I think your guess may be right - it just got banged up a bit. My first fear was that the coach was drooping down, but it looks the same on both sides, so I don't think so.

I just this week have that same problem. Did you do anything to get it to the point it doesn't touch the frame anymore?

Fixed running tail pipe

After checking both the suspension and the exhaust mounts, we simply had the tail pipe bent down a little bit to stop the rubbing. That was about 4000 miles ago, and it hasn't returned, so it appears to be solved.

There is definitely movement between the chassis and the rest of the motorhome. Our latest discovery is that the parking brake release now rubs against the plastic front surface of the motorhome. It would appear that there is some sinking going on -about a half inch or so.

Regards,
Andy

Mine was touching from the beginning...doesn't seem to get hot enough to cause any issues.

Having the pipe touch the frame can cause some funky noises and vibrations...
Can you try and "tweak" it back down into it's intended positioning?

Not touching the frame...just the outside of the body behind rear tires. Hasn't seemed to be an issue...yet.

You can "make magic happen"; with a 2x4 pry-bar, and some bracing...
