Bad THOR door

Ok, as a newbie,i'm not writing this to complain, but to share. We started experiencing door issues in short order on our 2015 THOR ACE 30.2. On at least two occasions, I thought we were going to have to be rescued when we were unable to get the door open!.
A trip to our dealership,Tom Raper in Richmond ,Indiana took care of that. A temporary adjustment to hold us over, and a new door on order.
KUDOs to the gang at Rapers. They took very good care of us.Their service gang as well as Kim Smith in sales are top notch.
Oh well, back on the road soon. Hocking Hills trip in S/E Ohio in November...
Travel Safe,and have fun!

Tim,

I got locked out of my ACE .... I always take my keys with me... I am going to have door looked at ... first chance I get... I am in Florida now and hate to waste time at the dealer. I think we buy the RV and then tell them what they did wrong.

This is not my first RV and it seems like the first parade.

We purchased out 2013 Four Winds 22E new and due to my husbands health we were unable to use it until now. I was preparing to load the RV and could not open the Coach door no matter what combination of key turns I tried. I then entered the Coach through the passenger door and attempted to unlock the Coach door with no success. Certainly we cannot go anywhere now. Its a fire trap. That's 2 years now that our new RV has been nothing but a 'lawn ornament'.

The doors typically have two locks, a deadbolt and the door lock. It is kind of confusing at first, but of course, you have to make sure both locks are unlocked.

While Thor is perhaps guilty of some shoddy QC and workmanship, RVs are mostly an assemblage of 3rd party components. The locks are such a 3rd party issue, unless Thor installed them incorrectly. I suppose this can result in finger pointing by the various manufacturers, but that is the characteristic of RVs, boats, etc.

There has been a recall on the door locks on a lot of RV's Check and see if yours is included. Not hard to change as ours went bad two years ago took all of ten minutes

Our locks are fine . Our door is out of line. Needs replaced. He shimmed
latch on door jam for now,and that works, but they are getting us a new one.

Same experience with our 2013 thor challenger 37gt. Shut door, had to use pocket knife to get inside.....Returning coach to dealer for that and some other minor adjustment.

I think the doors might be a quality control issue, because ours is unjustly difficult to open. I like them to close securely, but often times it's next to impossible to open with one hand and I don't like leaning into it with the screen door - childhood memories, always being told not to push on the screens .
