Battery Charging perimeters

Hi, 2015 Vegas. My coach batteries are very low.I plug in the charger/converter and the voltage is now 13.4. Shouldn't it be somewhere around 14.2 on very low batteries?

How/Where are you measuring the voltage? Is your USE/STORE switch in USE?

measuring right on the battery.... the charger is working.... Batteries were very low...11.8 v It's charging , "USE" switch is on. now reading 13.8V just thought it was a smart charger that started in bulk at 14.2v Thanks for the response!

The converter/chargers in the Axis/Vegas are pretty worthless. I have had two and neither ever went into the 14.1 v mode, no matter how low the batteries were. One neve4 would go into maintenance mode which meant that I risked ruining m6 batteries if I left the coach plugged in. I’d check both. I replaced mine wit( a Progressive Dynamics PD 4655 which works correctly.

Thanks for the good info..... So I'll keep an eye on it and look at replacing it with a Progressive Dynamics PD 4655 down the line....

Since I'm changing all brand new batteries. I want to start out on the right foot but the question I have to ask is... The 4655 is okay even though we only have a 30 amp rig? Axis 24.1.

The WFCO charger that you have in the Axis is also a 55 amp charger. That had to do with the input amps to the batteries from the charger and has nothing to do with the 30amp service into the coach. The PD4655 is an exact replacement for the WFCO converter/charger that you have.

I appreciate you getting back to me that's exactly what I'm going to do. The three new batteries and change to the 4655. I should be good to go then... thank you!!
