Foreign Object Warning!!!!!!

I hope mine is a isolated instance. However we bought a 2011 FW Hurricane 30Q So we are doing some mods and setting up the way we want it.

Every panel I pulled I found handfuls of loose screws, everywhere behind the dash and behind every panel I have pulled to inspect or modify something behind it.

Much to my horror I was showing my wife the transfer relay and there was another screw! Shorted between shore power lead and the generator power lead having welded itself on. Why it never took out the generator I will never know how it stayed there from its manufacture in 2010 to yesterday without shorting or causing a fire is a gift from God..

So look over your coaches very well. These guys who put them together I guess when they drop a screw they just leave it and grab another. Thor does great things in some areas and in others I scratch my head. I wish they would have a cable way from front to back but that's another story.

Sounds pretty much the same as my coach. They spare no expense to do things on the cheap.

On my furnace, they busted the plastic frame in a dozen places by over-torquing the screws. A moron with an air tool can be a dangerous thing.

Other than shorting something out which is terrifying, I suppose it is a source of spare screws.

Yes, I have about a cup of screws that I found!

It wouldn't take much for Thor to correct production issues like this. They have a sound design.

I figure I've found 5 pounds of screws so far, but have had to put back 4 pounds worth for places that were missing screws!

(numbers are exaggerated for effect)

When I was a kid, many years ago, my parents always bought used cars. We always would check under the rear seat to see if there were any toys left behind by the previous owners.

Then when I bought my first new car in the 1970s, I happened to look under the rear seat and found a spare window crank handle.

So all of those years, what we thought as kids previous owners leaving stuff behind might have been from the factory.

ISO1971, that a riot!

The biggest thing i remember from the big ISO 9000 transition I went through years ago, was that it didn't really matter if you were doing it wrong or stupidly, the procedure just had to be documented and you had to do it the same way every time. And how many millions have been spent implementing that little piece of brilliance???
