Battery tie downs

We have been having issues where we lose power to our audio system, backup and side cameras after hitting bumps. The batteries are moving around and not being secured. Took it in to be looked at and they told us we need stronger battery stap tie downs and labor extension e. Has anyone had issues like this.

Batteries should be secured so that they don't move around but don't think that causes the problems you have. More likely a loose connection to the dash receiver/display. S

Agreed. But the battery hold down strap is not very good. Hard to fit and keep tight, wears out. Walmart sells new straps but still a PITA.

I just got a spool of velcro: hooks on one side, loops on the other. Just wrapped that around the battery. So far its been holding quite well.

You definitely have an intermittent short. Having the batteries loose isn't good. My original straps (and batteries) are still good after 3 years and 25K. The real question is, are the connections tight?

Check the breaker that the batteries connect to, just to the rear of the batteries. A loose connection there will cause the radio to cut out.

Since mine are right under the steps: I make a point to stop every once in a while; and give them a good tugging!
