2017 Vegas store/switch question

So I think my use/store switch is going out. I have a distinct sound of a solonoid clicking when turning off switch, but silence when turning on. I also did not have power when switching to use.
The use switch did work after I powered on the generator.
So does the generator use house batteriea for starter engage?

Yes, and so does the Use/Store switch.

So its safe to say house batteries are good if generator cranked with ease.
Other than the use/store switch being bad, any ideas on why store side you hear relay but nothing on use side.

you might check your GFI to see if it is popped...probably not your problem, but it doesn't hurt to check it.

How do you possibly connect GFI to a STORE/USE switch problem?

I am not getting 12 volt power from the house batteries when using the store/use switch. The generator starts and powers the house 12 volt system. Checked the store/use switch with a multi meter and it appears to be okay. I found the solenoid next to the water heater. I will try to replace the solenoid and see if that is my problem. I replaced the blown 7.5 fuse with negative results. When I bypassed the solenoid, I got power to the house 12 volt system. It is a little frustrating in that I have 1,000 miles on my 2017 Vegas 24.1 and have already replaced the chassis battery. I picked it up a few weeks ago with a manufacture date of May 2016.

Did the fuse blow again? Perhaps one of those big breakers near the batteries with the push to reset buttons has tripped. The gen starter may be connected ahead of the breaker so thats why it will crank. Once the AC comes from the genny, the converter is producing 12v and you get 12v stuff to work. The relay may make a different sound for ON than it does for OFF. If it wasn't moving, it wouldn't make any sounds.

I have appreciate everyone posting their issues and resolutions on these forums. You have saved me a lot of time. I found my battery disconnect solenoid lying loose behind the hallway grill. The thing was fried. I ordered a new one and mounted it on the board under the water heater. All works well now.

I was also told that there had to be a minimum threshold 3V of charge on house batteries for the Use/Store relay to toggle.

the store/use switch does not really turn off the battery

Install a Knife style or something like it at the negative end that goes to the coach. It will isolated them.

Thanks for a very useful bit of advice!
I'm a bit surprised one wasn't already installed...

No way Thor is going to spend and extra $20 per coach...trust me, it is the best battery investment you will make... second to getting a solar charger plug in for your chassis battery, yep, the 12v plug in come off it..at least on mine.. so go to Harbor Freight or somewhere and get the solar trickle charger plug in thing..
