Black Water vapor leak

I have a 2014 Thor Challenger 37LX. My mid black water tank has a vapor leak - the vent is NOT blocked or plugged. It appears that the tank must be removed to repair a crack/hole. I'm very handy with lots of stuff - so - can I remove the tank myself? Appears the drain connection and vent connection inside the RV will need to be cut loose before the tank can be extracted, then the level indicator sensors and wash-out hose disconnected. Will then need a new drain connection and vent connection after the repair. Anyone else have this problem? Suggestions?

What makes you so certain it is a tank leak. I had odor issues briefly in my Miramar and traced it to the stand pipe for the washing machine drain in the closet. The drain and water valves are located behind the removable panel in the back of the closet. There was no cap on the drain and odors were escaping into the wall...very difficult to track.

We have a 2018 Hurricane 29m, and we had a black tank odor that we just couldn't get rid of or locate, but I replaced the air admittance valve in the bathroom and that took care of the odor (might be worth trying before pulling the tank).

I had even previously replaced the black tank vent cap with a Camco Cyclone vent and it didn't help at all.

Our bathroom air admittance valve is located next to the bathroom sink, there is also one next to the kitchen sink. in order to see them you have to look under the counters and in line with the drain plumbing. See the attached image for reference.

My odor is coming from the black water tank - not the grey water tank, so an AAV should not be the problem.

Since your bathroom sink is connected to the black tank...yes one of these could be your problem.

The washer stand pipe in the bedroom closet I believe was connected to the black water tank...at least it smelled like it.
