Generator

We're dry camping this weekend in Florida.
The generator stopped in the middle of the night. Started up this morning again but only ran 20 minutes and shut down again.
New to this RV stuff. Any ideas???

Check the oil and see if you have lights or codes on it

Check that you have at least 1/4 tank of fuel.

It is not warm enough for an overheat situation, but check for air flow restriction. Picking up litter such as a stray plastic grocery bag will cause an overheat.

Check oil level.

Looked for code, didnt find any. Nothing flashing. Going to add oil. Hoping that solves it. Showing normal range but lower end of normal.

You need to have more than a 1/4 tank of gas to keep it running or the generator will shut down .

I see you have a 2015 so I assume the run for a while and stop has never been a problem before? There are some folks that swear overfilling the Onan 4KW gens (up to the fill mark) causes this problem with a solution of removing some oil down to or just above low oil mark when level. I am not sure about that though......unless you recently had your oil changed by someone. The other common complaint seems to be bad or failing fuel pump. Attached is a good video on youtube for checking that since you have no codes apparently.
