That is good information to know....

Re the LED lights in our Axis ... we found the brightness annoying late in the evening in the living area and the bedroom.
We found at Home Depot for about $11 3 stick on LED lights which are battery operated, batteries included, touch the center to turn on/off ... we attached one over the couch, over the sink and over the charging station in the bedroom. Nice lighting .. less bright than LEDs over couch, ceiling etc....and comes in handy when dry camping too !

Thanks for your input. Will check Home Depot . Sounds like a good. Idea to have these around.

I'm guessing those are the same led lights we have in our Gemini, and yes they are bright, but at least in the Gemini, there are softer lights along the tops of the cabinets that are sufficient. Occasionally its nice to have the bright lights available. The ones that are really bright, are the reading lights on the bottom of the cabinets above the head of the bed. Those I will have to mute with something.

Does that cover twist off?
Another member sprayed his covers with two coats of semi-transparent Frosted Glass to dim the lights. I don't know if the lights are dimmable but I'll try.

Thx Rev!
Another thought, maybe a coat from a sharper marker on the individual LEDs could mute them a bit.

In our Axis...the only low light is over the stove...and I agree...those lights over the bed are waaaay to bright and warm !
With the placement of these battery operated LEDs, in prominent spaces for us, they have worked well....and...if anyone figures out a way to dim those lights over the couch and beds...please let us know !!

Sprays and markers are permenent. Once you get cover off, I would cut and test some sort of different filters lay inside lens . That way you can always bring back to factory lighting by taking it out.

Markers are alcohol based and can usually be removed with isopropyl. I suppose a waxed paper disk tucked inside...if the LEDS don't get too warm. I do know that blue painter's tape isn't so appealing but I had nothing else on hand.

I would be concerned about spraying or putting something on the inside of the lens...as those lights seem to generate a lot of heat !! I may be wrong..just thinking !

Go to any auto parts store or WalMart and buy some static cling window tint. Use your cover as a pattern and cut the tint film to fit. If you don’t like it the tint just peels off since it’s not permanent. Works great for the super bright over bed lights. If you want the light even dimmer install two pieces of tint.

Great solution, and easy to do and not expensive. Love those solutions.

Assuming LED lights, they SHOULDN'T be hot...
They should be no more than warm to the touch.

A hot LED (or driver circuit) is being driven too hard...
LEDs used in RV should be rated for higher than 12v... As they will often see 13+ volts.

If incandescent lights, they will get hot... And any material used needs to tolerate heat.
I used 'gels' intended for theatrical use (before that went the LED route)... If that stuff melted, there were much bigger worries.
