Challenger awning lights help needed

2017 Challenger. So last outing in January the awning lights were fine. After a couple months, opened the awning to clean and found a bunch of the little lights out. It's a Carefree Travel'r. Has anyone replaced this light strip? if so, how and with what? Thanks!

That's SOP for those LED strips. Several people here have replaced theirs; it's just a matter or sliding the old strip out of the groove and sliding the new strip in and then connecting the wiring.

The reason given for these things burning out is overheating. This can be caused by having them on while the awning is rolled up - you'll never notice it if someone accidentally flips the switch.

The best thing to do is get a strip backed with adhesive and run it under and parallel to the awning. That way you can use it with the awning rolled up and never have to worry about them being on accidentally and cooking themselves.

Yeah, I think it was self-inflicted.

I just went to replace my awning LED strip and (like an idiot) managed to touch both wires with the blade of the screwdriver I was using while starting to pry the sticky back - DOH!
Yes, the last few dots went out and I knew immediately that I must have left it powered up accidentally. Now there's no voltage at all at the wires.

I checked the DC fuses at the panel by the bed and it was none of those.
If it matters, I have a 2016 Outlaw 37RB Class-A. Where is the fuse for this strip?? The awning still rolls, the outside security lights all work, in fact, I can't find anything else not working..

Some have found an inline fuse behind the awning light switch. You have to remove the switch to get to it. This may or may not apply to your coach.

Right you are. Getting that switch panel front trim plate off was far easier than I expected. There was a blown 2A fuse in an inline holder for only that one switch.

We have, on occasion, the same 3 LED lights on the strip will not be lit then when we turn it on again those will be lit. 🤷🏻*♂️ We’ve tried changing the awning position when it’s on to get those 3 pesky LEDs to light but position seems to have no effect. I haven’t resorted to replacing the LED strip but it seems pretty easy.
