Dave,
I put some RainX on mine awhile back (around Easter, I think) and drove through quite a bit of rain on a trip to Fl. Until the rain got extremely heavy, I didn't even have to use the wipers and when it did, it worked really well w/o any film that I I observed.

Same issue

We are having the same wiper issues with our 2016 windsport. Been to 2 different dealers, both said they were fixed. Each time on the first trip out same results. Pictures would be identical. The bolt head off the motor is scrubbing across the two bottom motor mount screws.

We were cruising approximately 65 mph, wipers clearing the rain off the windshield, when the passenger-side wiper just disappeared, and the driver's side wiper was stuck on the left side of the windshield. I was pretty much driving blind until I could pull of the road. I checked the front and found the right side wiper was stuck just below the horizon of the windshield. I gave it a slight tug, and both wipers went to the rest position. The rain stopped, but another 5 miles, the rain picked up, wipers went on, and once again became stuck. I pulled over, but before I could tug on the wipers, they went back to the rest position.

My gut reaction is they can't handle operation at highway speeds, but I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem.
OK guys here goes on windshield wiper issue. I had exact same thing happen on new 2016 Hurricane also from Motor Home Specialist. I own 16 trucks in my concert business and have a super smart truck mechanic.

Here is what was wrong.

1) The motor is mounted on a thin steel bar that flexes too much as it goes around. We added a new steel fracked to stiffen up the movement.

2) More importantly the main problem was that the passenger wiper simply at times traveled too far to the left allowing it to bind up with the driver wiper. We simply added a small "L" bracket that that would simply stop the passenger wiper from traveling too far to the left. This may be a temp fix but it has work flawlessly so far. Hopefully a recall order will come out soon.

Same wiper problem and Thor fix

We have a 2016 Windsport and have been having the same wiper problem (passenger side goes below the windshield and then the driver side just stays stuck). We had it back to the dealer (General in Tampa) several times and they tried several of the fixes mentioned. They even replaced the motor assemble. Finally one day a factory rep was there and he took them there was a factory fix (no part number but he told them how to order the fix kit) kit. They ordered it and installed it and so far so good.

We are fixing to leave for a month trip to Washington D C and Va area and I'm sure we will run into plenty of rain to give it a good test. Hoping this is the real fix

Ok look what I got in the mail today. A hole new wiper motor and arm assembly, even come with washer bottle and hoses. Notice how the shaft that the wiper arms go onto are flat on two side instead of spline gears. These will never strip out, just hope everything lines up just right. Now I just have to find time when the local repair shop has time to install everything. Not sure why Thor didn't put these on in the first place....

Wipers

Got mine in the shop this past week. Mechanics said they found two bolts installed backwards, forcing the wiper arms to travel outside their normal path. Sounds like the same guy installed my wipers that installed the recliners, as there was also a bolt installed backwards that would not allow the recliner to work. Both the wipers and the recliner seem to be working ok - for now.

How about putting red Loctite on the wiper nuts to prevent them from coming loose and chewing up the splines? Has anyone tried that?

Wiper issue

I had my wipers fail on my 2016 KT as well during a heavy downpour. We had to wait for the rain to stop to drive the home to Western PA from Kentucky. My thor dealer supposedly repaired the wipers until this happened a few months later in October 2016 in a rain storm ironically on way home from the Pennsylvania state safely inspection, the picture attached is from the second wiper failure which was identical to the first. Thor would not pay for the second repair since it was out of warranty for a month and I was not going to fight it out with them again. My extended warranty paid for the repair with out any issue, I paid the minimal deductable and drove off and probably won't go back to the dealer for any work on my coach.

Looks exactly like the failure I had. The repair shop I took it to last summer said they found two bolts installed incorrectly, but the wipers failed again in December. I took my MH to the dealer, where they swapped out the full wiper assembly. I compared the one they took out versus the one they put back in, and it was obvious the first assembly framework was bent. No problems since.

If Thor says you are not covered by the wiper recall - Call NHTSA!

This same thing that happened to me yesterday, while on the way home from Springfield IL. 3 times in the rain. I had to remove the passenger side wiper, just so I could get home.
I'm going to check the nuts on the motor side too see if the travel of that wiper can be adjusted and tightened.

Jason at Thor sent me 4 PDF documents:

1) SAFETY RECALL LETTER - wiper system may have been incorrectlyinstalled and secured by TMC - take to dealer for tightening and inspection. (at no cost)

2) RECALL REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS - Tighten acorn nut at base of wiper arm. torque to 10 ft/lbs.

3) TROUBLESHOOTING AND REPAIR WIPER/WASHER SYSTEM (28pages) - This is for the service center if your not mechanically inclined. (It says it's a simple 3 step process. Yeah, right!) Unfortunately folks, I can't attach this PDF because it is to big a file. Call Thor and ask them for this Troubleshooting Guide because it has a good deal of informations and troubleshooting charts.

4) SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAME TMC RECALL - Good luck trying to see illustrations. Very poor quality pictures.

I also took it upon myself to change the passenger side wiper blade from a 32" to a 24". I think because it's lighter weight and shorter travel, it may not get trapped behind the driver's side. Haven't had a problem yet, but haven't encountered heavy rain and strong winds yet.
The 24" wiper clears less area of windshield but I'm not using all that area in my visual field while driving.

Good morning, everyone!

I have an issue with my Thor Ace wiper blade washer tubing. I noticed the location of the washer sprayer is in the middle of the blade. So, when I turn on the washer, the spray covers the middle of the windshield and downwards. It does not spray at the top.

Does anyone have a solution? I sure would like to correct this.

Thank you for your time!

The optional Wexco wet kit includes a spray head that clips to the flat portion of the wiper arm. The spray head has four nozzles: Left down, right down, left up and right up. I would suggest the up nozzles are partially plugged. I don't know if the nozzles can be adjusted as mine have worked perfectly for 5 years. To work well the washers need the high bridge aerodynamic wiper assemblies which are hard to find. I like the ANCO 50-32 .
