Moisture In Roof Lights Axis 24.1

First time on roof since purchase 3 months ago new. All 5 amber running lights above chassis have a lot of moisture trapped in lens covers. Took me 20 minutes just to do one of them (remove caulk, screw, wipe out, replace). Before I spend my whole day doing all the others, does anyone know of a simple way to get rid of the moisture build up??Click image for larger version

Mind are exactly the same! Is this a typical problem for all motorhomes? Or is this a concern such has a leak?

Ages old problem. Drill a 1/6" weep hole at the very bottom on the lens to let the condensation out, do not cover hole, it will keep lenses dry.

This may work for some but did not work on my tail lights. Luckily I had the foresight to only drill one to test it and would recommend you do the same Finch1408, especially on running lights. I rarely have to contend with moisture in AZ so this has never been that big a deal. Any condensation eventually evaporates.

When you say it didn't work I'm curious as to why? Did it make the problem worse?

Was that a 1/6" or 1/16" hole? Just wondering....

Sorry, 1/16". Spell check on my iPad does strange things sometimes if I don't monitor it closely!

Good that you fixed it. it is the source for many internal leaks. My 2015 had those crap lights and they filled up with water. My 2017 has led lights, no problem. I guess Thor changed to led lights for that reason.

I had same issue with my Vegas. Took lenses off, dried, put a drop of motor oil on each bulb/socket and sealed with clear RTV. So far , so good. They had been sealed with a pliable sealed that allowed water right down retaining screw.

Only been a month.

Yeah, I had those same clearance lights.
I'd honestly be suprised if they did not have water in, given the design.
Mine had foam gasket material that would shrivel up from the heat and fail....only making the funnel design even worse.

The good thing is, I never had a fixture stop working
and, even though it looks like it should, no signs that they ever leaked inside the coach....and I have pulled mine off and looked....also later had that nose cone partially opened because of a roof leak, and no signs that anything came from those clearance lights.

Eventually, as part of getting my roof sprayed (rvroof.com) because of another leak issue, I had them replace the lights at the same time with some SEALED LED fixtures....that also get some condensation in them...ugh!
