Chassis battery disconnect

Don't know if this is how it's suppose to work or not. I installed a battery disconnect on the chassis battery(blade style) with it disconnected I can still start the motorhome(2015 ace 30.2). Can do it with the MH plugged in or not. Anybody else have any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Do you have a photo of how you connected the disconnect? Can you start the engine with the battery ground disconnected?

Pretty basic how you hook up a disconnect. Negative side not much else can go differently. It will start with the disconnect let's call it off. Blade style so you just pull up on the switch which then interrupts the negative feed. Thanks

It must be using the coach batteries for the ground. Perhaps your emergency start switch or solenoid is a fault. Did you put in the disconnect to keep the chassis battery from discharging when being stored?

I did. I also put a battery tender/maintainer on it while it's not being used. I will have to see about disconnecting the emergency start to see if that's what's going on. That's a good place to start thank you.

I use a battery maintainer on the coach battery without disconnecting it. So far so good. However I don't store the RV for more than a month at a time.
