vegas engine over removal

any tips on removing the engine cover floor screws?
mine are loosened but now just keep spinning when loosen or when trying to tighten. Some kind of locking nut has fallen out of position

That did not happen in mine. Have you pryed the cover off and looked underneath? You have to slide a putty knife all around it to loosen the sticky insulation and then carefully pry the cover up. Then you will have access to the engine and area where the bolts screw into the floor.

Thanks

there are square nuts which are held in a slot by very flimsy metal clip. These clips have very narrow lips that suspend them in the slot. If any down ward pressure is put on them the lips bend upward and the clips and nuts fall through the slot. Consequently you have the nut ( in the clip) just rotating around because there is nothing holding it.

I replaced with uclips
