Crushed the ladder

Well I did it, backed into an overhang and broke the ladder. Thor wants $190 plus $200 shipping and crating.
Has anybody used and installed an after market ladder. My guess is that the Thor ladder is not outdoes made for the 2015 Hurricane 31s

I would stay with OEM and bite the bullet. Also make sure you didn't damage the roof/rear surfaces at the mounting points.

I've got to say that I agree... All of the holes will easily line up, and it'll be the simplest way to hide the evidence of this incident...
(I double-agree with TGC about inspecting for any damages...)

Why not save the shipping, drive over and get it, good excuse for a camping trip. May just break even and enjoy your $200.

See if your ladder has a label with MFG or part number. If not ask Thor for a parts list. Most of the items on the coach are made by third parties and available from other sources.

Good idea, we have an Indiana trip scheduled for September
I have checked out the roof and it appears to be secure and sealed.
No fiberglass damage only the ladder.

Here we go with the assumptions, but with aftermarket, make sure the horizontal "struts" are in the same vertical locations just in case Thor may have hit a metal cross member inside the body by chance.

Come on Gritz, what are the chances of that. If I ever find that I will hit the lottery. I am coming up on a new ladder soon I am afraid....

Etrailer 109.00 free shipping....High Ratings. You guys are funny acting like Thor ordered some special high quality ladders for their units… And thinking they actually took time to think of where to put metal struts to tie the ladder into. Almost as crazy as the photographs of the tiny sheet metal screws holding everybody's dinette tables in the wall of cardboard.. order online and save$$..

Man, I love the way you guys get into a problem.
I have a while to get it done. Anybody know how it is attached to the roof.

Use a nail gun....or...if you want to comply with Thor Specs...Elmer's Glue.

Screws and Dicor. And I agree, order from third party, you’ll get the SAME ladder cheaper!

Why bother?

I am not a fan of attached RV ladders. Most are too weak to hold a plus sized guy like me. Plus, you have one access point to your roof no matter where you need to go. Walking all over your roof is not recommended. As you posted, they are expensive to repair or replace.
I use a collapsible ladder. I installed hooks so it sits on my back bumper in transit. its one of those that doubles as a step ladder . If you watch RVs traveling down the road, a ladder is the most common thing attached to the RV ladder.

I went to Total Value RV in Elkhart for a new ladder on my 2013 Hurricane 32A. The new ladder is a better design than the original. The cost for the ladder and labor was under $300.00.

Just curious...I own a lot of ladders at home and buy nothing but Werner as they are well mad and rated for weight capacity limits. I've looked through all the literature that came with my coach and find nothing that states a weight limit for the ladder. Sounds like a good case for my lawyer..."Dewey, Cheatham & Howe".
