Dash Switches???

I have a question about the dash switches. I have a 1993 Thor Columbus. It has a switch on the dash labeled "Ceiling light". It has a small light inside it and in one position it emits RED and in the other position it emits GREEN. However, it doesn't seem to do anything in either position. All of the ceiling lights have separate switches on the light fixture themselves. That main switch doesn't seem to do anything. Can someone tell me what it is supposed to control? Thanks.

On my Vegas this switch turns on the ceiling light in the cab area BUT the slide switch on the light itself must be in the on position for either 1 or 2 of the light elements. If the slide on the switch is off and I turn on the dash switch nothing happens.

On my vegas all the ceiling lights also have separate slide switches on the lights. They are a three position switch -- off, 1 light bulb on, 2 light bulbs on. The ceiling light switch on my dash is for the ceiling light in the cab but the slide on the light itself must be in either of the 2 on positions. With the slide switch in the on position -- the light can be operated from the dash. But if you position the slide on the cab ceiling light to off, and operate the dash switch -- nothing happens.
