Dehumidifying

Question about keeping moisture out of my RV during winter months … freezes where we are over the winter. The unit will be under cover.
I was going to use DryZAir pebbles, then someone put me on to an electric small dehumidifier. RV will be stored 20 mins from my house. Any ideas on how to best drain the accumulated water without having to check it weekly? or every few days? I am new to this. Thanks for any ideas.

By its nature cold air is pretty dry as it is. I'm guessing in BC it gets colder than it does here in Southeastern Michigan and thus will be drier.

Every time I check on our coach in the winter its really dry in there without anything dehumidifying it.

I agree with Jamie G = Cold air much dryer. But in the warmer months you might put a de-hummid. in the bathroom area and have it drain in the shower. Just makes you check your holding tank every week or so and drain when like half full? After you check on it a few times you might see you can go a month or more without draining holding tanks.

I been using damp rid (in a bucket) then throw it away every few mo. Mine is inside an insulated building and it says much cooler in the sumer (85 - 88 deg for HI) and much warmer in the winter (30 -40 deg last year for lows). So I been leaving one or both roof vents open - sometimes a window. No mold problems so far.

During the warm month im taking mine out almost every weekend so it gets a good exchange of air while im playing with it or doing mods.

Also in agreement. Before I started to go South for the winters, I stored my RVs here in Ontario. Used two DryZair containers. The two containers would only accumulate water in the spring. If you say it freezes where you are then will the water produced by the dehumidifier not also freeze? You won't be able to add it to your grey tank, because it will dilute the plumbers antifreeze in the P traps before getting to your grey tank.
I also used to defog the carburetor of the generator so I would not have to exercise it over the winter. The RV was plugged in and was covered. I also used to slightly open all the cabinets and drawers.

Thanks for all the replies. We are usually between -5 and -15C (not F) so below freezing, from Dec for about 3 months. Considerable snow fall. But it will be under cover in a barn. Decisions decisions. thx guys.
