Refrigerator screws

We have a 2015 Thor Vegas. Just noticed the screws and washers in the freezer compartment are all rusted. Has any else had this problem? Did you remove them? What did you replace them with? Stainless steel?
Appreciate some help here.
Thank you.....Darlene

If they're rusted solidly in place: you'll need some penetrating oil, and some muscle to break them loose...
Stainless replacements would be a good choice.

Good Luck!

Do you know if we should use wood screws or machine screws?

I wouldn't dare to venture a guess . Once you pull at least one of them out: you'll know exactly what you need.

This won't help your bolts that are already rusted, but let's look at prevention:

Do you let your refrigerator dry out when you store it away? If you leave the doors open after you turn it off, there is condensed moisture, especially in the freezer. I leave mine open overnight, wipe out the water I can, and leave the doors open until the next time I check it.

At that point, inside the door latch handle is a small tab that you can engage, keeping the doors open just a small amount.
