Engine noise around 2300rpm

2017 Ford E450 with 14k on it. Just started making a noise around 2300rpm. Goes away when I accelerate. Noise sounds like tappet noise. I’ve tried different loads on the engine with AC. Close to the rpm where the engine shifts. Looked under the hood for loose plug, loose vacuum line, and can’t reproduce the noice in the driveway. Anyone have a similar noise? Any clue what it might be? Just had a oil change before trip.

I have it. Sounds like near my left foot? Occurs less than 10 percent of time

Yeah, loonnngg time ago when I used to work on cars, this guy's motor had the same problem. Turned out it was one of the two valve springs broken. And whenever it shifted 1st to 2nd you heard it for just a little bit. Course nowadays wif everthing added on ....

Did you verify the type oil they used and also that the proper amount was put it. If this just started since the oil change, it could be low.

Well, I just found the source of the noise. I was checking my air filter and a big ole mud dauber nest fell out when I opened the housing. The are two 1/2 holes on the side of the filter housing so they must of gotten in there. The nest was loose and must have hit its resonate frequency of vibration around 2300 rpm. Go figure.
