Engine Trouble 2014 Windsport 34f

Help, having engine trouble. I live in Phenix City, AL. Check local Ford dealers and none of them would work on my 36 footer. I took RV to Ford dealer in Tallassee, AL, for repairs. They texted me today and said they do not know what the problem is and can not repair RV. I will pick up vehicle in the morning.

I did not realize that they are primarily a Diesel shop.

Engine Problem: At 70 MPH the RV runs Great! When I start from a light I get a surge in the engine. The engine will hesitate until I get up to speed and then it smooths out.

I have replaced fuel filter, air filter, tuned-up. Also, new catalytic converter and throttle body. Still problem not corrected.

We have a place that I recently discovered in Columbus, GA, 5 miles away called Tech-Mantics that works on large Fords and I will call them on Monday.

Has anyone experienced this problem or have any idea what is going on, Thanks..

No check engine light? Does it behave different if it's warmed up compared to when its cold? Bad ignition coil pack might not show a code but can show the symptom you are having, sometimes you'll notice a power loss. Bad Idle Air Control Solenoid but that will normally throw an engine code. Troubling that the Ford store couldn't find the issue as I'd be certain it would show up on an engine scope or a starting system test.

Could also be the EGR valve. It has to seal at idle, low rpm and under acceleration then open at highway speed. (open at high engine vacuum and closed at low vacuum) Carbon can build up and prevent a good seal resulting in loss of low end power, hesitation and rough or no idle depending on the amount of leakage.
