entry door

I have a Thor Vegas 2016 25.2. I am missing the entry door gas shock as it was broken on delivery and dealer lost. Does anyone have the specs on the shock. The original ball attachment apparently tore off the bottom of the door. Is there any repair/mod for it? I have asked Thor twice now without response.

The dealer should be able to get the proper shock for you, they have to order since Thor does not sell direct. You can call Thor and get the part number and give to the dealer to order.

I replaced the gas shocks on my car hatch, but the one on the Vegas/Axis is one you won't likely find anywhere other than from Thor. Any Thor dealer can order this for you. Installing it shouldn't be too hard. I removed and reinstalled ours to haul a big trunk. Having it off allowed the door to open just enough wider.

I replaced the gas shock and but the door was a bit sticky. I found out that the door was too low and there was not enough clearance for the shock and studs. Does anyone have a fix for this?

This is the shock I installed to replace the factory one.

RV Designer G21 20" Gas Prop - 10 lb. Load Capacity

Google it and there is a site that has a lot of different ones.

Ordered it from Amazon. The factory is 20 lbs while this is 10 lbs. Much better opening and closing. This does not come with that ball fitting that torn off on yours.

I actually removed mine from my 2016 Miramar. More than once I found the wind catching the door with such force it actually loosened the screws holding the door frame.

We also removed ours and put a stop on the side to hold it wide open for groceries, etc. Between the wind trying to rip it off and having the door sticking out as an obstacle, it just seemed the right thing for us.

I also installed an outside 90 degree holder on mine while I was working on replacing the gas shock and door bottom. We managed to break it off quite regularly. Obviously we're challenged at remembering that it was engaged. A large spring clamp onto the awning support worked better.
It would be nice to have it working as designed.
