First time user, bad water pump

Just purchased my first RV, Thor Freedom Elite 22E. Three weeks in and the water pump seems to be leaking. Any recommendations for the type of pump I should buy? Never more than two people in the RV at a time, I guess gallons per minute isn't that big of an issue. I'd like a quieter model. Also, is this something folks replace themselves? It doesn't seem difficult to me, but I don't know what I don't know, if you know what I mean.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Where is it leaking? Did you make sure all the connections are tight?

(Our water pump appeared to be leaking at first but it was simply the strainer wasn't tight.)

Honestly did not check. I will look at it tonight and get more information on type of pump, specs, where I think it's leaking, etc. and post that information later.

Thanks.

I had the same issue as Jamiegeek, well similar. The cap on the suction side strainer was cracked. It seems someone at the factory over tightened it just a bit. I called Thor customer svc and they sent me a new cap pronto. No more issues. Easy fix

I'll add.... funny thing is you would think that a cracked piece would show itself from the beginning..... but the leak didn't happen till after a bit of use. No sign of it during a thorough prebuy.... it took a few on-off cycles I guess to lea enough to be found. I can't remember if it was our first night or second night or maybe even a bit longer before I found it

Sure enough two finger nuts were loose. I had taken it on a three day trip, didn't leak enough to notice. I took it out last weekend for a few days and saw water on the floor. No tools required, hand tightened the nuts, had the pump on for several hours yesterday, ran water, etc. and not a drop.

Thanks for the suggestions, I would have just replaced it!
